Quarterly Meetings The Vaughn Meadows Neighborhood Association hosts four meetings a year, held the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October. Neighborhood business will be discussed as well as learning opportunities through guest speakers and local government leaders and members. Keep an eye out for signs posted at the entrance to the neighborhood the week of the meeting. All neighborhood residents are welcome!
Beautification Award The Beautification Award is given monthly from May through September every year. The central objective of the Beautification Award is to enhance the beauty of an already very attractive neighborhood through a friendly curb appeal competition among VMNA members. The Beautification Committee will select one home each month to receive the Award. Judging is based upon the total exterior appearance of the property as viewed from the street, to included the care and repair of the home's exterior as well as the design and appearance of the property's landscaping. Winners receive a $50 gift card to Southern Homes and Gardens, the beautification award sign posted in their yard for the month and a photo of their home on the website.
Neighborhood Clean-up Day A great day to get outside and do some spring cleaning. Check your yard and your street for trash, debris blocking gutters, and to take stock of what kind of yard projects you have for the seasons ahead. Signs will be posted at the entrances and around the neighborhood as a reminder. Clean-up day will be held the first Saturday of April and the first Saturday of October.
Yard Sale A neighborhood-wide yard sale day that will be advertised in local papers and online local sales outlets. The event is generally held on the second Saturday in June. Should this date be rained out, the event will be held on the third Saturday in June. The Yard Sale is open to the entire neighborhood, both members and non-members. Anything you make selling your stuff, you keep. It's just a great day to chat with neighbors and unload some of the extra items you have gathering dust that could be making you money.
Food Drive Annual event held in November and is open to everyone in the neighborhood. You do not have to be a member to participate. We have a generous neighborhood and our donations of food and funds help to feed those in need.
Spring Party An annual event, chaired by a resident member and supported by a team of volunteers. The type of party may change from year to year. It may be an Ice Cream Social or a cookout with food and soft drinks. It may include activities for kids ranging from a huge inflated playground to face painting and neighborly networking. Residents are sometimes asked to bring a food contribution in a covered dish to accompany the hot dogs and hamburgers provided. Information will be spread prior to the event to give information about the party and if residents should bring a dish. All residents of Vaughn Meadows are invited and welcomed, even if they are not members of the Association. Both the young and old gather together on a pre-designated location and a lively and enjoyable time is had by all.
Holiday Party Every December, the Association hosts a Holiday Party in the elegantly decorated home of a VMNA member resident. Wine, beer and soft drinks are provided by the Association and residents are urged to bring an hors d’oeuvre. All residents of Vaughn Meadows are invited and welcomed, even if they are not members of the Association. It’s a wonderful time to meet other neighbors and enjoy an amazing evening. Dress festively!
